I recently had someone send me a picture with a halo or rainbow around the sun. The person who sent the photo wanted to know what it was and what caused it to be there. I decided to spend a few moments today explaining what it was. Heres the image I got from the follower.
Social media is hyping another winter storm chance for this upcoming weekend. I wanted to take a moment and type up this post to give you my forecast without the hype you are seeing around social media.
It's not often I blog about dry patterns of weather. I really can't help myself with this upcoming pattern because it has been a long time since we have been fortunate enough to have a dry pattern of weather to last past three or four days.
We have been a wet pattern for a very long time now. I would love to tell you the pattern is changing. There are some signs of dry periods in the long term forecast. We have to get through Friday and then we will dry out for the weekend.
Earlier this week we had our first snowfall of the winter around the county. As we have moved through the week snow has melted and caused the ground to become very saturated. Now we have some excessive rainfall moving toward the county. Most of the rainfall will occur for us on Friday.
Good morning everyone! As we move through the day today we will begin to see precipitation move into the county and over the next 3 days change often from a variety of rain, freezing rain, sleet & snow. Based on all the model data out there.
We are a little over 24 hours away from the potential of our first bout with winter weather arriving into the county this season.
Good Friday morning! We are now about 36 hours away from the start of winter weather here in the county. This blog post this morning is going to be short because the models are starting to get a good grasp on the storm track and the precipitation types.
The short range models are starting to paint a clearer picture of what to expect from the winter weather system that will move through the region and county starting Saturday afternoon and lasting into Tuesday morning.
Good Thursday morning! We are now getting into the window where the short range models will start to come into play to help paint a clearer picture of what will occur this weekend. Some subtle changes but not enough for me to make many adjustments to the forecast.
